Regardless of what time you go to bed, mornings always seem to be chaotic. Here are some gadgets and apps to help you establish a great morning routine.
Smart Alarm Clock
While you can buy an old-school alarm clock that wakes you up with loud beeping, you can also procure a smart alarm clock and wake up to your favourite Spotify playlist. There are a number of WiFi-connected smart clocks that offer a range of functions including multiple alarms and sounds, white noise, and built-in sleep programs.
In order to have a productive day, you need to get the optimal amount of sleep. There are a variety of sleep tracking apps available including those that allow you to track and measure your sleep and vital signs, ones that play music or sounds to help you fall and stay asleep, and alarms that wake you up at the perfect time.
Smart Coffee Maker
For those who need coffee to start the day, there’s nothing worse then setting up the machine but forgetting to start brewing. With an app and a smart coffee machine, you can start brewing from your bedroom or any other place with a Wi-Fi connection. Depending on the model you choose, you can receive push notifications about when your coffee is ready or when it’s time to purchase more.
Your coffee maker is smart, so why shouldn’t your toothbrush be? Smart toothbrushes connect to an app, which then helps you to monitor things like whether you’re brushing too hard or not long enough. For flossing, you can save yourself time (and the annoyance of regular string floss) by using a water flosser, which shoots water into hard-to-reach spots to prevent cavities from forming.
Want to know the weather or what your first appointment of the day is? Maybe you want to have the headlines read to you or find out what the traffic is like before you head out the door. Whether you’re using Google Home, Amazon’s Alexa, or another virtual assistant, key information to help you start your day is at your fingertips.
Now that you’re ready to go, where are your keys? According to Tile, makers of trackers for personal items, we spend 60 hours every year searching for things we have misplaced, most often our keys or phone. With tracker devices, you can locate your keys with an app.
Most people spend more than an hour trying to get to work. While there may not be anything we can do about gridlock, there are apps to make the drive a little easier. Google Maps allows you set up traffic alerts, so you can adjust your morning commute accordingly, and Waze offers alerts about traffic and accidents while also letting you know where you can find the cheapest gas in your area.
Search “to do” in the App Store or Google Play and plenty of options come up that offer various ways to keep you organized and your mornings on track. Google Keep, for example, offers the option of allowing you to collaborate on your notes and lists with everyone who has access to it. Mornings are crazy, but with these gadgets and apps, at least you’ll be a bit more organized.
