Choosing a dinnerware set is a mesmerizing experience; after all, dinnerware sets are meant to last. In many instances, you make a commitment to your plates and bowls, vowing to replace them only if they break or shatter due to an accident or unfortunate incident.

Granted, at times you might also feel like splurging a bit on your dinnerware sets. This is especially evident when you have a special occasion or event; showcasing your best dinnerware says much about you. Luxury dinnerware sets bring a sense of glamour and richness. They can also become part of a family’s treasured legacy and serve as heirlooms. Often transformative in nature, they refine your dining experience.

Below, we feature a few pieces we think are great and will make an excellent addition to your fine dining experience.

Royal Copenhagen

Unique and elegant in their own right, the Royal Copenhagen dinnerware sets feature several spellbinding collections. Founded in Copenhagen in 1775, the company is purveyor to the Royal Danish Court and is under the protection of the Danish royal family. Their pieces feature elegantly hand-painted plates, saucers, pots, ladles, and much more. The iconic Blue fluted designs are elegantly painted on several pieces, which are each uniquely hand-signed, reflecting the brand’s heritage. Besides carrying a notable selection of dinnerware sets, the brand has a rich history of producing porcelain collectibles, each uniquely designed and hand-painted.

Villeroy & Boch

Synonymous with quality, Villeroy & Boch has been around for more than 275 years.  Founded in 1748, the German brand of tableware and dinnerware sets has established a special reputation for itself, thanks to its high-quality craftsmanship and innovative, elegant design. Many luxury hotels and resorts around the world are known to carry some of their collections. Nevertheless, their Wildrose collection is among the most unique. They feature delicately hand-painted cups, plates, saucers, and pots with the renowned Wildrose painted on them with large pink blossoms and dark green leaves gracing each piece. The handles of each piece resemble flower stems, while the lid handles are shaped like small rose buds, adding a decorative element to each piece.

Lenox

Established in 1889, Lenox is a brand driven by the highest goal; that of setting the best standards for quality in dinnerware sets. Indeed, the Lenox corporation managed to do that and much more. Their uniquely crafted dinnerware pieces come in both casual and formal sets and can readily impress any guest. With several design styles and colour schemes, Lenox produces unique dinnerware pieces that can help you celebrate any occasion each season. From Christmas to Thanksgiving, they have some of the most compelling bone china, porcelain, and stoneware pieces. Among their most notable collections is their gold rimmed plates and bowls, which add elegance and sophistication to any occasion.

Royal Albert

Royal Albert fine dinnerware pieces have a reputation for elegance and luxury. Initially founded in 1896 in Britain, the company became known as Royal Albert in 1904 in honour of Prince Albert. Among their best and most special dinnerware collections is the Old Country Roses pieces, which were introduced in 1962. Although the brand has unique, elegant floral designs that came into fruition in the 1920s, the introduction of the Old Country Roses pattern led to a significant surge in sales. This catapulted the brand’s popularity into the limelight, making it one of the best-selling brands in the UK and the world.

Mikasa

Recognized as a leader in tabletop dinnerware sets, Mikasa was originally a dinnerware importer and wholesale supplier. In 1957, the brand established a name for itself by creating a unique line of dinnerware, crystal stemware, barware, and other decorative accessories for the home. Most of Mikasa’s elegant pieces are durable enough to go in dishwashers and microwaves, giving them added practicality; a few can even go into a 400-degree oven.
