If you’ve been following the latest social media trends, you may have heard of a concept called “Slow Evenings,” which is taking the internet and social media by storm. Slow Evenings involve activities such as lighting candles, applying a face mask, sipping tea, and watching a show. These evenings encourage individuals to dedicate time to themselves, and effectively unwind after a long day, both of which are essential for maintaining overall well-being. Plus, let’s be honest, who doesn’t love to pamper themselves once in a while? If you are opting for a summer evening in, we recommend indulging in an exciting skincare routine so that you can enjoy a tranquil end to your evening. When it comes to skincare, there are many serums, cleansers, creams, moisturizers, and the list goes on. It can be overwhelming to choose the right product, but one of the easiest ways to take care of your skin and see fast results is by applying a face mask. While there are an abundance of fantastic face masks, the following five will certainly take your skincare game to the next level!

The Exfoliating Mask

Drunk ElephantT.L.C. Sukari Babyfacial Mask

This product includes a blend of matcha, milk thistle, and apple extracts to help soothe and provide potent antioxidants to the skin. The combination of Chickpea flour and pumpkin enzymes provide that soft and supple “baby-like” complexion. The ingredient AHA works to exfoliate dead skin cells in combination with salicylic acid, which unclogs pores. This product works with all skin types, but should only be used once a week. To apply it, spread a thin layer evenly all over your face, and leave the mask on for 20 minutes. Then wash it off.

The Brightening Mask

Sephora – Caudalie, Vinoperfect Brightening Glycolic Peel Mask

This brightening mask peels right off and yes, it is extremely satisfying! It uses an ingredient called viniferine, which is said to be 62 times more effective than vitamin C in brightening skin and reducing dark spots caused by acne and the sun. Some of the natural ingredients used in this product are sunflower and grapeseed Oil, as well as Lemon Peel Oil. This mask works best on normal and combination skin.

The Charcoal Face Mask

Origins – Clear Improvement, Charcoal Honey Mask

In the medical world, activated charcoal has been recognized for its ability to absorb toxins, but recently, charcoal has become popular in other forms, such as being added to a variety of foods. For example, charcoal ice cream gained significant traction across North America and now potato chips with charcoal infused sea salt are being sold in grocery stores. But it hasn’t just been added to foods, it is also infused in our skincare products. In fact, the bamboo charcoal in the Origins face mask acts as a magnet to pull out pore-clogging debris. This product is balanced with golden wildflower and fermented honey to help nourish skin after clearing pores. This mask is suitable for all skin types.

The Black Head Removal Mask

Amazon – Vemofoper Green Tea Mask Stick Blackhead Remover

This mask comes in the form of a stick to easily apply. It contains green tea extract to balance skin oil and replenish moisture. It also contains vitamin E to soften skin, as well as glycerin to hydrate skin. This green tea mask reduces blackheads by penetrating into the skin and absorbing excess grease. This product can be used on all skin types; however, those with normal to dry skin should only use it once a week and those with oily skin can use it up to three times a week to control moisture. Evenly apply the product where needed. Leave it on for 10 minutes and then wash it off.

The Overnight Mask

Sephora – Farmacy 10% Niacinamide Night Mask

This mask can be applied on top of or in place of moisturizer and is designed to be worn overnight to maximize results. It contains vitamin B-3 to smooth skin and refine pores, in addition to panthenol to hydrate the skin. This product also uses upcycled blueberry seed oil, which revives dull skin. Plus, it contains some natural ingredients such as turmeric, shea butter, eggplant, flower, fruit, and leaf extract! This mask works on normal, dry, and oily skin types.
