Who is Cheryl Sutherland? Let’s get to know you better.

Cheryl Sutherland is a Transformational Speaker, Business Strategist and Founder of PleaseNotes, a for-purpose company of affirmation-filled products. I felt restless and underwhelmed at my 9-to-5. After spending over 2000+ hours in learning and facilitating personal development, coaching, and reigniting my inner creativity, I created a company that inspires women to step into their own power by building confidence, clarity, and creativity.

What’s the inspiration behind PleaseNotes? What’s the story?

We started the company with one item, the PleaseNotes Sticky Note, and fully launched the brand with a successful Kickstarter campaign. Since then, PleaseNotes has expanded to include a suite of products that cater to customers worldwide, including Spain, the UK, Canada, Latin America, and Asia.

We have been endorsed by renowned changemakers Les Brown and Monique Coleman with the words, “This is a gift, this is special and extraordinary and deserves to be shared with the world.

What does the name PleaseNotes connote or imply? Plus, what are some of the products you carry?

PleaseNotes is a soft request that comes when writing to ‘look at this, it’s important.’ I want people to take the time to look at this soft request to love themselves just a little more. Some of our top products include: The Guided Gratitude Journal, The Guided Clarity Journal, The Manifestation Planner, The Incision Notebook, Jotter Notebooks, Affirmation Cards, and of course, the original PleaseNotes Affirmation Based Sticky Notes

Can you tell us about the workshops you run?

The Journal Your Way to Clarity workshop is designed to support individuals who want to learn how to find your answers by looking internally. The Clear and Confident Course offers a journey of self-discovery aimed at realigning individuals with their unique paths. The Create Clarity in Your Calling Bundle is crafted to assist individuals in overcoming Imposter Syndrome in their professional pursuits. And the Journal Your Way Wealthy Workshop is designed to harness the power of journaling and fostering financial abundance.

As a Black woman entrepreneur, what are some of the challenges you’ve faced and overcame?

As a Black woman entrepreneur, navigating the business landscape has indeed presented its share of challenges. One significant obstacle has been the prevalence of systemic biases and stereotypes that can hinder opportunities for advancement and recognition. By fostering strong networks of support, seeking out mentorship opportunities, and leveraging my unique perspective and experiences, I’ve been able to overcome many hurdles along the way.

What’s your specific product that has stood out from the rest, and why?

One of our top-selling products has been the Manifestation Planner. Our clients have consistently reported positive experiences and are often returning as repeat customers. Additionally, we’ve received favorable feedback from corporate buyers who have embraced our offerings.

What are your future goals and aspirations for PleaseNotes?

This year, my team and I are diligently working to secure additional speaking opportunities to bolster the growth of PleaseNotes. We also aim to expand the availability of the products in additional retail stores. I’m also really excited about some of our upcoming vendor markets, including the One-of-a-Kind Show in Toronto. As Cheryl Sutherland, my number one legacy is inspiring other entrepreneurs, particularly women and people of colour, to fearlessly pursue their dreams and break barriers in the business world.
