There is something special about romantic movies besides being heartwarming; they can make you have a good old cry or leap with joy when two lovers finally end up together. Whether you are romantic or not, snuggling up on the sofa with warm hot chocolate and a blanket to watch a romantic movie can undoubtedly rekindle your affection. Below are a few movies that will give you a warm fuzzy feeling to help you celebrate the month of love.

Bridget Jones’s Diary

Single, impatient, and worried about her image and weight, Bridget Jones (Renée Zellweger), a 32-year-old woman, is introduced to Mark Darcy (Colin Firth), a childhood friend. Bridget forms a New Year’s resolution to turn her life around as she crosses paths with Daniel Cleaver (Hugh Grant), her supervisor at work. They begin to flirt and date, but before the plot resolves, she finds herself again with Mark, and a romantic relationship develops. If you are looking for a romantic comedy, this is the movie to watch; after all, Bridget is relatable to most millennials.

P.S. I Love You

Holly (Hilary Swank) loses her husband to a battle with cancer; distraught, she withdraws from her family. Without knowing it, she is in for a surprise; her deceased husband Gerry (Gerard Butler) had arranged for several messages to be delivered to her after his death, all ending in “P.S. I Love You.” Grab the tissues for this romantic movie; it will make you want to hug your loved ones a bit tighter.

Ticket to Paradise

The recently released romantic comedy revolves around a divorced couple travelling to Bali to stop their recently graduated daughter Lilly (Kaitlyn Dever) from marrying someone she met on a whim. The antagonistic parents hop on a plane to Bali separately, and before they know it, they accidentally run into each other. The comedy that ensues is for the records. Starring a couple of acting legends, George Clooney and Julia Roberts, it is certainly worth watching.

I Want You Back

Peter (Charlie Day) and Emma (Jenny Slate) are each abandoned by their partners; nevertheless, they team up together to sabotage their exes’ new relationships to win them back. Although their scheme might seem absurd in its delusion and desperation, it succeeds. I Want You Back has comedic turns; it includes a few surprising twists in how the plot unfolds. It is the type of romantic comedy that makes you believe in not giving up on love.

The Bodyguard

Legendary actress and singer Whitney Houston plays Rachel Marron, a music star who hires a bodyguard, Frank Farmer, played by Kevin Costner, to protect her. Frank tightens the singer’s security; and she begins to fall in love with him. Rachel realizes that she must put her trust in Frank before her own selfishness and desire for success. After completing his duty, having successfully protected Rachel, Frank moves on to another assignment. Rachel parts from Frank with a kiss and the renowned song, “I Will Always Love You.”

A Star Is Born

A classic love story with a musical spin — country singer Jackson Maine (Bradley Cooper) falls in love with aspiring singer Ally (Lady Gaga). Jackson persuades Ally not to give up on her dream of making it to stardom. As her career takes off, the personal side of their relationship begins to falter. The rocky relationship is put to the test in several ways. This romantic movie will make you cry; the emotional plot line makes it a memorable love story.

When Harry Met Sally

The romantic comedy, starring Billy Crystal as Harry and Meg Ryan as Sally, explores whether men and women can be platonic friends. Considered one of the greatest romantic comedies ever, the movie sees Harry and Sally meeting each other again at a bookstore after their first initial meet-up during a contentious car ride from Chicago to New York. Their infectious love and chemistry make this movie a sweet story about love and friendship.
