The legendary Canadian singer Celine Dion has rereleased a new song called Love Again, which also happens to be the title track of her latest romantic movie, in which she plays a supporting role. The song is one of five new hits on the movie’s soundtrack. The movie was released last May and is complemented by a full album featuring Dion’s five new songs.

The album has compelling songs like I’ll Be, Waiting on You, and Love of My Life. They are the first taste of Dion’s iconic music since she was diagnosed with a neurological disorder, forcing her to cancel her much-anticipated 2023 world tour.

“The good news is that I am doing a little bit better. It is going very slowly, and it’s very frustrating to me,” Dion said in a statement.

This is Dion’s first English language album since her 2019 album Courage. Love Again is a movie about a young woman who gains comfort from texting her fiancé’s old cellphone number after his death, only to find a connection with another man who is reassigned the same number. It stars Priyanka Chopra Jonas, and Sam Heughan, and sees Dion playing the role of a matchmaker friend who helps the couple get together.

“I had a lot of fun doing this movie. And to have the privilege of appearing with the beautiful and talented actors Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Sam Heughan in my very first feature film is a gift that that I will cherish forever,” Dion said in a statement to People magazine.

Dion postponed her 2023 spring tour to 2024. She also cancelled eight of her upcoming summer concerts.

Across Quebec, Dion is seen as a polarizing figure. Nevertheless, in a province of 8.5 million, many Francophone fans aren’t embarrassed to admit crooning to her English songs. Dion’s English songs have a signatory influence, often leaving an indelible impact on her listeners ears.

Local newspapers in Quebec refer to her as the Queen of the Québecois; she almost has a royal status after years of criticism by reporters and opponents. Her recent announcement about a condition called stiff person syndrome was met with an extraordinary outpouring of concern across Canada and the rest of the world.

Dion’s record-breaking French and English albums made her one of the world’s best-selling artists. The 55-year-old singer sold more than 250 million records worldwide.

Her renowned Titanic song, My Heart Will Go On, won the 1997 Academy Award and Golden Globe for Best Original Song, selling over 18 million records worldwide, and is considered the world’s highest-selling single by a woman in history.

From an early age, Dion dreamt of becoming a performer. When she was 12, she collaborated with her mother and brother to write and compose her first song. Eventually, she crossed paths with music producer Rene Angelil, who was moved to tears when he first heard her sing. Angelil mortgaged his first home to fund Dion’s first record, and since then, the legend began.
