The summer season brings a plethora of things to see and do, and one thing many women like to do is work on their tan. While you might be spending a lot of time under the sun, you might not want to sit idly or scroll on your phone; many people also cannot just sit idly.

If you find it hard to sit still, do not worry. We have gathered a collection of fun activities to help you make every sun-soaked moment count.

Read a Book
If you are heading out to the beach or to a place by the pool, it’s always a great idea to carry a good book with you. Reading is a great way to spend time; it can make time pass as you get captivated by the characters, events, and plot in the story. If you will be tanning while on vacation, you can also spend your time reading a travel guidebook. Use this little time to plan your night out or what you plan to do the next day.

Listen to Music or a Podcast
Listening to your favourite song while tanning can be an enjoyable experience, to say the least. Carrying a list of songs with you, whether on your phone or iPod, can make time pass more quickly. It can also make a short tanning session feel less tedious and more leisurely. Because music has the power to release endorphins, these feel-good hormones can boost your mood and distract you from how long you have been tanning.

Catch up with the Latest Trends
You can catch up with the latest trends in fashion, beauty, or social media while tanning. After all, this can make time pass more quickly. If you particularly enjoy reading, you can catch up on the latest fashion trends by reading a fashion magazine like Vogue, for example, or you can catch up on the latest trends while reading a digital magazine like Condé Nast. If reading isn’t something you fancy, you can also scroll through Instagram for the latest news on fashion, celebrities, and trending hashtags.

Call a Friend
Calling your best friend while tanning can ensure you have someone right beside you as you enjoy the sun, even though they might be miles away. You can spend your time talking about any activities you have recently embarked on or share stories and reminisce about your past experiences.

Do Crossword Puzzles or Sudoku Puzzles
Playing a crossword puzzle while tanning is an ideal way to exercise your brain while enjoying the great outdoors. There are so many kiosks and magazine shops that sell magazines with puzzle games that you can buy.

Do a Hair Mask
Doing a hair mask while tanning is a great way to protect your hair from the sun. Whether you are at the beach or in your own backyard, you can easily do a hair mask while sunbathing. You don’t need a chemical hair mask; you can use a natural one with coconut oil. The coconut oil protects your hair from the sun’s harmful effects and adds moisture, especially when it’s being dried out by the sun and heat. It also reduces dryness and brittleness, particularly in bleached or colored hair, and improves its texture and shine.

Stretch Yourself
Doing a few stretches while you are outdoors is a great way to pass time; it can also help you avoid the stiffness that comes from lying still for a long time. It also helps you relax your muscles during the session and reduce uneven tanning from skin folds or pressure points.

Write in a Journal
Writing plays an important role in activating the brain’s neurons; journaling is also ideal for venting and distressing; after all, you can release all the emotions onto a journal without exposing your feelings to anyone. Journaling also clarifies your thinking, especially when you feel overwhelmed. Apart from its mental health benefits, it encourages gratitude and positivity and improves self-awareness.

Enjoy a Drink
Enjoying a drink while tanning can be particularly refreshing in the summer heat. While water is an obvious choice, you can add a lemon slice, a cucumber, or a squeeze of your favorite fruit to give it a different taste.
